Relaxation

"There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them." - Sylvia Plath.

I love a good bath. After moving away from home for university, I endured almost three years of living in places devoid of a bath, which was agony - have you ever tried to have a relaxing shower? Impossible! Since moving into a new place a year ago, the novelty of suddenly having a bath again still hasn't really worn off. One of my favourite things is relaxing in a gorgeous smelling bubble bath, armed with a stack of glossy magazines and perhaps a glass of wine or two. The other day after finishing a particularly gruelling university exam, I decided that I'd earned myself a bit of a pamper.

Firstly, I headed out to Lush and picked up two of my all-time favourite bath time treats - the Rose Queen bath bomb and Rose Jam bubble bar, both of which smell incredible. While I was there I also grabbed a pot of one of my favourite face masks, Catastrophe Cosmetic. Containing fresh blueberries, almond oil, rose and chamomile, it gives a really good deep cleanse and leaves my skin insanely clear. After running a hot bath and popping in the bath bomb and bubble bar, I was left with a glorious pink, rose scented bath, complete with bubbles and various floating flower petals. I applied my face mask, laid back and just relaxed, with several candles dotted around and the latest issue of Vogue. Heavenly! It's so therapeutic if you've had a difficult day, or even if you just fancy a relax, to take an hour out to just unwind, read and pamper yourself.

Are you a bath person? Any recommendations for bath products? I'd love to hear!

  1. Looks like heaven! I too have been deprived of a bath since being at university, everytime I go home for Christmas / random weekends I always make sure I make the most of being able to have a lovely relaxing soak! Can't wait to get a new apartment with a bath!

    1. I do the same exactly thing! I can't take a shower at home anymore because I'm traumatized by the communal showers at my university!
