Sephora Collection Toner, Cleansing Water and Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover.

A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to Sephora, the French cosmetics store that is an absolute haven for any beauty lover and something we are sorely lacking here in the UK. I first fell in love with Sephora in New York last Christmas, when I dragged my boyfriend around possibly every Sephora store in Manhattan and returned to England with not one, but four shopping bags from there. Yep, it really was that good. The Parisian flagship store, while impressive, was obviously lacking the American exclusive brands that sent me into such a frenzy last time, so I was pretty reserved and left with just three little purchases to try out: the Sephora Collection Instant Refreshing Toner, Triple Action Cleansing Water, and Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover.

First up, the Instant Refreshing Toner, which was somewhat of a disappointment. It has a nice, clean scent and does feel pretty refreshing on application, but I've noticed no difference to my complexion since using it and it definitely doesn't soften or hydrate my skin like it claims to. The full sized version (pictured is a 50ml miniature size) comes in spray form which earns it some brownie points (I do love a good facial spray!), but as the formula is nothing special I doubt I'll ever try it. I'll probably finish this bottle off but it's not one I've been finding myself reaching for. Blah is the word.

The Triple Action Cleansing Water is a definite step up, however. If you've used micellar waters before then this will be nothing new or particularly exciting to you - it's a simple product but it does what it's supposed to and it does it well. Again, it has a really fresh scent which I love, and it gets rid of most makeup without too much trouble. Like the other two products, it's formulated without parabens or alcohol which is great news for your skin, and it's very reasonably priced - one I'd definitely think about repurchasing if I ever got the chance.

Lastly, my favourite of the three, the Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. Lately, I've made the switch to waterproof mascara which is great news for my lashes (seriously, waterproof formulas are where it's at!) but not so much fun when it comes to removal. This is a dual layered product consisting of a clear and a blue liquid that you gently shake to blend together before use. It's an oil based formula so is perfect for dissolving waterproof makeup - I tend to apply a small amount to a cotton pad and hold it over my eye for a few seconds before wiping away, and find it gets rid of stubborn mascara in a couple of swipes. It doesn't irritate my eyes at all but it can leave my skin feeling ever so slightly greasy afterwards due to the oils - however, as I follow up with another cleanser and a toner it's not a problem. I've already used up the 50ml bottle of this and am seriously regretting not buying the full sized version. I'm currently on the lookout for another similar product, so recommendations are welcome!

You can buy Sephora Collection products online and in store if you're lucky enough to live in a country with a Sephora! I'm not jealous at all...

  2. I'd love to get to a sephora. All the mini travel and try me sets would suck me in! They are a great way of trying out products without breaking the bank and regretting it!

  8. I tried the makeup remover before and it's nice! I wouldn't say the sephora skin care range is the best it's pretty basic not horrible but then again not super amazing either.
